Interpretation

During the Second World War many people became homeless and many people lost their lives. Many women became widows and they were compelled to leave their own houses and became refugees. This also shows even bravest and strongest people lose their confidence in the face of dangerous. Self confidence is key to success. He wants to convey the message that we should help the weak and needy people to please the God.

Critical Thinking

This story, in fact presents the miserable condition of ordinary people during the Second World War. Many people suffered much and lost their lives. But I don’t agree with the writer that he says there old men who helped the mother got strength and enjoyed much. How did they get and needy people and calling the name of the God.

Assimilation

When I read this story, it remained me about my own country Nepal. During the conflict between Maoists and the government. Nepalese people had also same plight. In a day time Nepalese armies used to search the house and at night time Maoists used to search the house. Many people were killed and many women became widows during the conflict. Many people left their birth place and went to their relatives as refugees. On the way to their destination Maoists as well as Nepalese armies gave trouble to ordinary Nepalese citizen.
