Helen Turrell is also an unmarried woman who begets a child beyond her marital relation. The writer brings other character like Michael Turrel, George Turrell and mers Scarsworth to show the Crisis about the mortality of English people. Helen turrell is almost thirty five years old unmarried woman who gives birth to Michael Turrell beyond her marital relationship. When she conceives a child, she has to leave her village to save herself from social stigima. In France, she begets a narrates a fake story about the birth of Michael Turrell she told that Michael Turrell is a son of her late brother, George Turrell, inspector of Indian police. He is not born from His legitimate wife but from his beloved. George Turrell was killed falling off the horse. As a  Result, a nurse helped to carry Michael turrell up to france. Although, Helen is disintrested about child caring, she has to take the responsibility of Michael, she said in the Eyes of society.

Michael calls Helen (aunty) whe he begins to go to school, he knows that other children called to their mother by using the term “mummy” in bed time.
