The story “The Lost doll is collected from south America. This story conceives the supernatural element. In the story the first child of Roberto Soto and  Rosa Soto gets rebirth in the form of Evangelina. The second child of Soto family recalls the events of her previous life and narrates them in front of mother and aunt. Roberto Soto and Rosa Soto had a child named Maria del Carmen who was sick since her birth date.

Although, Carmen, loved child, she passed away at the age of 4 while she was living, she used to play with the doll. When she passed away, the issue of the doll became mysterious. As it was untimely demise of Carmen and she was loved by all, to pay their respect to the dead body all of the villagers  might have participated in the funeral possession of Carmen. After the Death of Carmen Rose Soto gave all the belongings of her child to the neighboring village priest.

As a result the issue of the doll became significant throughout the story. Fortunately on the First anniversary of the death of Carmen, Rosa Soto gave birth to the next child. They baptized her and began to call her as Evangelina, which refers to good news. The physical structure structure of Evangelina was exactly like Carmen was exactly like Carmen she also used to speak like her sister. When she was almost five years old she told Rosa that she was sick Rosa Soto replied that the sister of Evangelina was ill since her birth day.

Evangelina remained healthy since her birthday. Although Rosa tried her best to escape from the saying of Evangelina. she couldn’t in front of her sister and Rosa her self Evangelina told that she remembered the place where she had buried the doll. ans. There were more similarities between Carmen and Evangelina. But they have some dissimilarity too. When Evangelina was born and grown up, she looked very much similar to the Carmen’s actions, characters, behaviors and other many things were very much similar. When Evangelina grew she looked very much similar to her sister Carmen. But she was Healthy girl.

Evangelina’ was Rosa’s Second daughter and Carmen was the first one Evangelina actions and body structure were similar to her sister Carmen who died after being sick. Evangelina looked as Carmen. The difference was that Carman Was sick but Evangelina wasn’t sick.

When Roberto doesn’t find the doll of Carmen, he wants to save that doll for next child. This shows the poor condition of Soto Family. They were living a simple and ordinary life.

And Roberto believes in god and super natural and he had still a hope of having child even doctor have declared that they will not have any child.
